The effective dosage of fenugreek to increase breastmilk supply is 3 capsules 3 times a day.

Most mommies see results within 1 - 3 days. If you do not see much improvement after 3 days, increase the intake to 5 capsules 3 times a day. Many mommies see results only after 2 – 4 weeks of consistent usage.
When taking fenugreek, you do have to consistently stimulate your breast by either direct feeding your baby or pumping frequently. Never go more than 4 hours without removing milk from your breast. And when trying to increase supply, you should also Direct Latch/pump at around 3 am. This is because 12am to 5am is the time that the hormone prolactin is secreted the most- Prolactin is the hormone responsible for more milk production the next day.
Once your supply has increased to your satisfaction (ie 3 - 5oz every 3 - 4 hourly), you can try to reduce the dosage slowly and eventually stop. But some mommies find that their supply also reduce when they stop fenugreek, so they continue to take it for as long as they are breastfeeding. It's safe to take fenugreek long term.
