How is this different from hospital or
postnatal (confinement) centres' breastfeeding talks?
Breastfeeding talks offered by hospitals and postnatal (confinement) centres are usually part of a broader antenatal or postnatal programme. These programmes cover many topics such as pregnancy, labour, newborn care, confinement practices, and basic breastfeeding support.
Because of this, breastfeeding education is often limited to a short session of 45–60 minutes. In that time, it is difficult to go beyond general information or address the common challenges parents face once they are home with their baby.
These talks are commonly conducted by healthcare or caregiving staff who may be well trained clinically, but whose role is often to provide standardised guidance rather than in-depth, breastfeeding education and
may not always have extensive personal breastfeeding experience.
Love Breastfeeding is different.
This is a dedicated breastfeeding class with over 6 hours of focused content, designed to prepare parents not only for birth or confinement, but for the realities of breastfeeding in the weeks and months that follow.
It is taught by Gina Yong, an experienced breastfeeding consultant and mother of four, who combines professional training with lived experience. Having personally faced breastfeeding challenges and gone on to successfully breastfeed her children, Gina offers practical, realistic guidance that goes beyond theory.
This class is created to help parents:
• understand breastfeeding deeply
• anticipate challenges before they arise
• make confident, informed decisions
• feel supported long after the class ends
